Profile featured on New West
Last fall a great multi media profile of myself was featured on New West.net.
The combination of interivew, sound recording, video and still photography is enough to make any stalwart soul nervous. However, this turned out great.
The short video is here http://www.newwest.net/city/article/conversations_with_missoula_artists_meet_molly_murphy/C8/L8/.

Heard Museum Show, Take Five
Once again we are off to the Heard Museum in Phoenix, AZ. I have been working long hours on some fabulous projects.
This first piece I am especially fond of
titled She Sews A Flight Of Fancy,

Modeled after nineteenth century sewing boxes,
this includes a scissors case, pincushion, needle case, and an awl case, all beaded to match the exterior.

This Heron Box is a wall mounted retablo style piece I experimented with last summer.

Nine pieces, double doors, gold bells, but wait! It opens...

And has a Great Blue Heron on the interior.
A personal favorite, my Magpie Box. It too has double doors that open, but I have to save something for later.

To read about my going to the Heard and my prep for my largest and most complex piece,
go here (http://missoulian.com/articles/2009/02/25/news/top/news01.txt) for an article hot off the press. Front page in my hometown. Here (http://videos.missoulian.com/p/video?id=3244662) is the companion video.
I will update from Phoenix next weekend, wish me luck.

Above are a couple of pictures from Molly's solo exhibit at the Missoula Art Museum. It has been a big success thus far. It will be up until mid-late May. Here is a link to an article about it and her in the Missoula Independent: http://www.missoulanews.com/index.cfm?do=article.details&id=C846AF7D-14D1-13A2-9FF3C6430DDCB03F Enjoy...
